La v\u00e1lvula Clover, desarrollada por el cirujano cardiovascular argentino Osvaldo Amerio y su socio Carlos Schvezov, promete transformar el campo de los reemplazos valvulares card\u00edacos. Este innovador dispositivo combina las ventajas de las v\u00e1lvulas biol\u00f3gicas y mec\u00e1nicas, eliminando sus desventajas m\u00e1s significativas.<\/p>\n<p>Mientras las v\u00e1lvulas biol\u00f3gicas, que evitan la necesidad de anticoagulantes, suelen desgastarse en un per\u00edodo de 8 a 10 a\u00f1os, las mec\u00e1nicas, aunque m\u00e1s duraderas, requieren medicaci\u00f3n de por vida. A lo largo del proceso, el equipo enfrent\u00f3 numerosos desaf\u00edos t\u00e9cnicos, pero cont\u00f3 con el apoyo de la Fundaci\u00f3n Barcel\u00f3, que jug\u00f3 un papel crucial en el impulso del proyecto.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"banner banner-hide banner-parrafo\">\n<div id=\"banner-ad-interior-art\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>La Fundaci\u00f3n Barcel\u00f3, a trav\u00e9s de su incubadora Incubando Salud, se ha especializado en la promoci\u00f3n de startups en el sector salud. Hasta la fecha, han evaluado m\u00e1s de 800 modelos de negocio y han incubado m\u00e1s de 45 startups. Amerio y su equipo participaron en uno de estos programas, donde recibieron formaci\u00f3n y apoyo clave para estructurar el proyecto Clover. Adem\u00e1s, fueron premiados con el primer lugar en un concurso de la Fundaci\u00f3n, lo que les otorg\u00f3 mayor visibilidad y acceso a nuevos recursos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Regular el flujo sangu\u00edneo en el coraz\u00f3n<\/h4>\n<p>La importancia de las v\u00e1lvulas card\u00edacas es fundamental, ya que son responsables de regular el flujo sangu\u00edneo en el coraz\u00f3n. Amerio se\u00f1ala que, a pesar de la existencia de procedimientos m\u00ednimamente invasivos como el TAVI, \u201cen los \u00faltimos 40 a\u00f1os no ha habido modificaciones disruptivas en el dise\u00f1o de las v\u00e1lvulas, solo incrementales\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>El desarrollo de Clover ha incluido pruebas y simulaciones utilizando software especializado, que permitieron la fabricaci\u00f3n de prototipos testeados en Estados Unidos con resultados alentadores. Hasta ahora, el proyecto ha logrado obtener cinco patentes en Estados Unidos y Europa, lo que ha facilitado la inversi\u00f3n del Centro de Innovaci\u00f3n Tecnol\u00f3gica y Sociales de Suncor (Cites).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"embed\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/elonce-media.elonce.com\/fotos\/2014\/07\/17\/o_1405619350.jpg\" alt=\"Archivo\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" data-src=\"https:\/\/elonce-media.elonce.com\/fotos\/2014\/07\/17\/o_1405619350.jpg\" \/><figcaption>Archivo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Con el pr\u00f3ximo gran hito en la investigaci\u00f3n siendo el estudio en animales, el equipo busca una inversi\u00f3n de 1,5 millones de d\u00f3lares para completar los estudios precl\u00ednicos. Amerio enfatiza la complejidad del proceso regulatorio para dispositivos implantables, pero conf\u00eda en los resultados obtenidos hasta el momento. \u201cEl estudio in vitro muestra que la v\u00e1lvula tiene una hidrodin\u00e1mica excelente\u201d, asegura.
